Much of my painting
and sketching is done in the form of projects where I set myself
a series of objectives to achieve. However, on this project,
painting and sketching village churches, I went way past the
original remit, eventually taking two years to reach a conclusion. I had originally planned to paint and sketch village churches in Shropshire where I do much of my outdoor work but, having read about other interesting churches in the rest of England, I expanded my horizons to include some of these, eventually visiting over 100 village churches. I learned much of historical interest and found information about churches that were built many hundreds of years ago. I have kept a record of my visits but will conclude here with this short introduction. Should anyone require more information about any of the churches, please send me an email. Below is a selection of the churches I visited. I have not put them in any particular order: |
